this has got to be the most devastating news (for me) for the month: I'M BREAKING OUT!!!! IT LOOKS HORRIBLE, IT LOOKS DISGUSTING, IT LOOKS DIRTY, IT LOOKS HIDEOUS!! and it's not my time of the month so i have no idea why those pesky zits all suddenly decided to erupt simultaneously. i mean, why?? it's been pretty smooth-sailing the past months, and now i'm just.... AAARRRRRGGGHHHH!!!! I CAN'T BLOODY LOOK IN THE MIRROR, IT'S SO FRICKIN' DISTURBING!!!! oh gawd and IT'S A PAYDAY WEEKEND! how on earth am i going to show my face out in public???? i mean really, what did i NOT do this time to deserve such? *&$^#^@)$(%*&%&&!!!!!
right. sorry. just had to let that out. ugh.
i know what i do NOT do all the time. close my God-forsaken bag. hehe. and i almost lost my iPod today because of that *err, ro and kris kept it to teach me a lesson because my bag was just lying open on my table like some virgin, with the shiny iPod conveniently peeking out* and this wasn't the first time i thought i missed something. there was a time i spent an entire weekend completely paranoid thinking i lost about 5k of smackaroos after the preview party because my bag was almost always in full view of everyone. and come sunday, my mom just had to casually ask if i want to take the money she had safely kept for me in her private drawer all those times. sakit sa ulo.
yey! it's friday-i'm-in-love (and paid) day!

memoirs of a surfer girl
i wish.... why wasn't i born and raised in hawaii?? or australia? or even just in siargao or baler, aurora?
i caught blue surf on hbo last night, and my surfing dreams *another frustration, among thousands... HAH!* came back to life yet again. of course it's one thing to be totally amazed with kate bosworth and her perfect form on the surfboard and wish i could have at least a tenth of her super toned bod, but it's another thing to see the big waves and be able to conquer them fearlessly like how them hawaiians and australians, or even plain siargao and baler locals always do. my only *and traumatic* experience with big ocean waves was very recently, in puerto galera just last january when i got swept away and hurled all over the sand by the big post-winter waters, much to the amusement of all the people chilling on the beach to find my bikini top falling off little by little (not that it actually contained anything, if you know what i mean). it wasn't the most appealing sight, i tell ya. ever since i offered myself to the sanctuary of the beach, i've always wished i could surf and learned how to when i was just a little tot. by now i would've been a pro at it, never afraid of the fact that i'd be in the middle of the ocean with the possibility of sharks and other lochness creatures lurking about, ready to devour human flesh. me don kurrr!!! i'm a certified son(ess) of the beach, i'm crazy about salt-sea, glistening crystal-blue waters, powdery sand underneath my feet and the glare of the summer sun on clear skies. my only regret is discovering the wonder and beauty of the beach right when i started to hit my adulthood. i live in a country full of them beach paradise islands and i've only come to realize their beauty now. sayang, if i had grown up in the embrace of the ocean and the smile of the sun every summer, certified beach goddess na dapat ako ngayon, with a permanent tan to boot. :P

biggest frustration
i've probably said it over and over but yes. my biggest frustration in life and in my next life and probably the life after that is to take really amazing pictures. pictures of places, beaches, strangers, moments. and i mean pictures that will bring me back to the exact moment of capture. i don't know when this madness started but everytime i see amazing shots, it takes me a full minute to take it all in because i'm just so incredibly blown away. (i happen to work in an industry where the quality of the product also depends on how creative and artistic the pictures in it are. so yeah, i basically see works of wonderful photographers practically everyday.) and one of them would have to be this dude jake verzosa who is just a god behind the lens. i'm no expert in photography, but i know a good picture when i trip all over myself just by looking at one. and i've always had to forcefully close my jaw whenever i see any of his works.

regularized
homigod! i'm like, regular na! i can't like, frickin' believe it because i'm like, super clueless when my boss came up to me and like, talked to me and told me she's regularizing me and me just looking at her with a flabbergasted face because i'm just like, really shocked. so i'm like, super happy!
hokei, STOP. where did that come from? i just had my third sinfully sugarloaded turon for the day, so i must be sugar-high at the moment. but yeah, i'm a regular already *shock* and it all kinda happened fast. hehe, not that i'm complaining; i haven't been regularized for anything, but then 3 jobs in a span of only a year is a pretty short time. it's so nice, so that's how it is. i got all these nice reviews from my boss and i guess it never occurred to me that i'm capable of doing stuff i never really imagined i'd be able to do. didn't make much sense, but just pretend it does. it's so nice, i feel like an elementary kid getting a ribbon for being the most outstanding pupil in class. heehee*
i still have a lot of points to improve on though. of course there will always be room for improvement, but i want to take note of even the littlest things i do that are starting to tick me off. it's bad enough that my sleeping problem is starting to kick-off again, and waking up in the morning becomes the single, most challenging task i face literally first thing every day. therefore, making it to work barely before lunchtime. tsk tsk. tonight, i'm enforcing a strict schedule once i get home from work. even if i get home earlier, i still end up doing senseless stuff until the wee hours of the night *yeah i actually find time to dance in my room with my iPod for hours* haha it sounds crazy but i guess it's the only workout i have time for. ergo taking a bath late, sleeping late, and waking up late. grrrr. i used to sleep to jay leno's voice on the telly before i hit the lights out (that's around 11pm), but now i've barely warmed up for the night when i watch conan o'brien's show (past midnight and beyond). i swear, all that is going to change. besides, all my 2am zzz's is starting to inflict harm on my skin. :P
so there, happy happy! astig, astig talaga ni Lord :)

as per rico's request

my friend rico is complaining that i still haven't blogged my birthday gimmick with them last saturday, july 9. it was a very simple one, there weren't even a lot of people who came. hehe, i made sure of that, because i didn't really have a lot of money that time, anyways. sarah, rico, claire, and nico made it out of about 10 people invited, and i was happy with that already. well i only invited the people who remembered my birthday, just to be fair. it was a very simple, though not-so-quiet dinner at glorietta. we still laugh our asses off like we were hanging out at the pav. then we transferred to krokodile grille at greenbelt because nico wanted to drink (he was driving that night), but he was confident he wouldn't get drunk. so we ordered lotsa beers and feasted on greasy kropek the rest of the
night. and ace came along too, i know he never passes up a chance for a drinking session. good thing he was able to make it, his mother was also celebrating her birthday that night. after 4 bottles of (strong ice) beer, nico was down. and the guy still had to drive claire and i home, then drive all the way to his home in bulacan. haha it was a fun trip watching him get a grip of himself from the tipsiness, tigas kasi ng ulo! *haha! look who's always so sober* hey, but i was unusually sober that night! claire was scolding nico not to drink too much next time, but what can she
do? boys will always be boys, arrogant and egoistic forever harharhar. luv u nicow! he had to go ahead because he really wasn't feeling ok anymore, i don't know how he was able to drive all the way to bulacan from makati with all that alcohol level.respeto naman, pare
there was just this really downright irritating incident (and i mean just by thinking about it still makes my blood boil a bit) by the end
of the night. i just wish not all guys are that stupid *stupid would be an understatement to describe the guy i'm talking about* and close-minded, because i would officially end the search for my own mr. dreamboy right here, right now and choose to be celibate for the rest of my sorry life. i saw this guy i met before through one of my best friends that night. i haven't heard from him for a long time, which is good because i found him annoying anyways. he was by himself at 2am walking around greenbelt (i mean, why?? by himself??) while we made our way to coffee bean for some sweets and to sober up. he started texting to ask how i've been and of course, i politely replied, having had no communication with him for a while. then as claire and i were riding in her friend's car on our way home, he started asking to "make sabay" although i clearly told him that we were already on the road. he kept texting the same thing over and over as if i could do anything about it, so i stopped replying because it was a waste of time and energy. at around 3:30 AM, i was all freshened up and ready to hit the sack when i received a message from him asking me if i was home already and if i wanted to "tambay muna" at his place "if it's ok. if not, kei lang din." i mean, seriously dude. what a way to ask a girl out. i wanted to knock him in the head with a baseball bat, his stew of a brain clearly missed out on two very important things. that #1) it was 3:30 IN THE MORNING, what the heck was he thinking making me go all the way TO HIS PLACE at such an ungodly hour?, and #2) i am a WOMAN *i know i don't act like one and may not look like one at times, but i AM. haha, really*, and going out at that time all by myself would up my chances of a. getting mugged, b. getting raped, c. getting killed, or d. getting mugged, raped, and killed. and besides, i really don't get the idea why he was making me go? i did what any self-respecting woman would, i didn't reply at all. i was already thinking of a thousand harsh words i could throw at him to make him realize what an asshole thing he did, but decided against it. better not stoop down, and just keep my dignity and pride intact. gawrsh, i must be making a big deal out of this, but it's just not right to ask a girl that. it's definitely, absolutely not right. i hate to think what kind of girl he must think i am, or if that's how he really treats all the girls he meets, and i seriously want to kick him in the groin. geez, i should've accepted his invitation and grabbed the opportunity to do just that. i just feel sorry for him that he's so stupidly clueless about his actions. i honestly felt violated even when i still think about it; as maui always bluntly puts it, "that's bootycall, honey." had he been a very close friend of mine, i wouldn't have minded hanging out at all because my guy friends are like brothers to me, but i barely know this guy. and from all the things i hear about him, he sounds like a very sorry lad, who also seems to have very sorry manners. had i been in one of my feisty moods that evening, he would've gotten hell out of me. urgh, how i wish i was, that was the absolute perfect time for the meanest, baddest, bitchiest bitch fit of all.
it would have been a lot more fun had a lot of people made it, but oh well, everyone is always so busy nowadays. but it was still fun! thanks guys, for being there. not quite a big shindig but i was happy, nevertheless. :)

why i hate growing up
As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love.
So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.

think of homeless, starving, dying people in all parts of the globe as you read this
someone sent this email at work one day, a watch for sale. now, i want you to think of all the aforementioned people in the title as you read through this:
What: Omega's newest watch, the Seamaster Planet Ocean
(acquired last week only)
How much: Original price is P175,000 but since you're fellow (name of company),
will sell for only P150,000 and two gives pa! But fine, we can still
negotiate. :)

rubber strap (for guys) or orange leather (for gals and gays), water
resistant up to 2000 ft. Have press release so you can read rest of the

*** end of ***
right. more than a hundred grand for a watch. i can't help but shake my head in disbelief as millions suffer while some people can spend one-tenth of a million on a... freakin' timepiece. to think it's going to be like any other time-telling watch in the entire universe. ironic talaga ng mundo, grabe.

happy na, birthday pa! (thoughts the day after)
nice day yesterday. i've never felt so calm and tranquil on a normal weekday, but it was an extraordinary yesterday so i couldn't just count that as normal. though work doubled because of an event we had to take care of, it was all so good. my whole family (my dad in spirit) surprised me in bed with a candlelit cake as early as 6am and that already jumpstarted what a beautiful day i was going to have. the whole day went by smoothly, i even got a couple of uber nice presents (m gave me a beach-ish top, ro and kris gave me a pair of really funky earrings, treena bought a lighter with a green flame, and myra gave me a pink notepad with beaded bookmark). when i got home, my mom bought chinese food to celebrate dinner, and my siblings had presents for me!! i couldn't believe it, we never gave each other gifts and that was a really nice surprise. bok gave me this super cute teddy bear with pink ears and toes splashed with silver stars, and michel gave me pink flipflops. heehee i was such a giddy child last night, i wolfed down the chinese food while teasingly complaining to my mom that i hate chinese, and scooped out all the icing at the side of the cake. yum yum yum. we were supposed to have ice cream at mcdo but it started raining, so i just feasted my eyes on the uberly gorgeous richard gutierrez on sugo. i swear, YUM-MEH!
oh i'm really really thankful. i'm really really thankful. not all of my friends remembered it was my birthday, but it was enough that those really close and dear to me took an effort to greet and even call. and it was enough that i was able to spend most of it with my family while having a nice and quiet dinner (we never get the chance to do that anymore. i, for one, don't catch dinner with them by the time i get home). i spoke to my dad that morning, he sounded very groggy he must've just woken up. and the weather was amazing, it's been raining the past days but the sun decided to be out and about for my birthday. now i think it IS possible to have a beach outing this weekend.... nyaknyaknyaknyak. enough already, i have to seriously work on saving up.
i feel so blessed, i can't stop gushing over God for such a wonderful life. all the pain, trials, hardships, and frustrations i've been through the past 22 years... they are so worth it. :)

huffy boitday tuh moi
whoakei. exactly 2 hours and 44 minutes to go and i am officially in my 22nd mark. wow, in some parts of the globe, i wouldn't need an ID to get in bars anymore, although i doubt people would actually believe i AM 22 years old. my relatives still have trouble grasping the truth that i've already finished college, much so being more than 2 decades old. oh yeah but i really am *frantically waves driver's license around* not that i'm hyped about getting a year older. i'm not exactly jumping up and down with joy here.
don't get me wrong though. i AM excited. like hell. it's only this time that i get to eat my favorite cake from goldilocks: mocha chiffon with pink icing at the sides (that i just love scooping out, much to my sweet tooth's delight. or teeth.) oh boy oh boy OH BOY! (hugs self)
gawd i can't believe i still have the attitude to be sarcastic about my own birthday. i should be thankful that God has given me another year to pester the world and its inhabitants some more. or it's probably because foul-mouthed, feisty, devil-may-care girls like me still have a lot of honing to go through before passing those angel standards they require to get up there. don't worry God, i'm getting there. little by little. i still have, what? 65 years to go? ^#(@)$+*^#%@!!!!
hehehe. nah, i'm not being a cynic here. my sarcasm mode just happens to be ON at the moment. honestly, i am one happy kid. i love the month of july as much as i love december, because once july kicks in, i know it's time for that special day again. MY special day. remembering past birthdays and how i celebrated them gives me the cringe, i remember how bratty i become just because i know people would be sucking up to me and try to make me feel good. but that was eons ago, i would like to think i don't act that immature anymore.
i am making a tribute, not for me but for 22 people i should be thankful for. my life's been one hell of a ride, but there are people who chose to stick with me and have always been there for me in spite of all my shortcomings, bratinella attacks, and endless bitch fits.
1. Mama - need i elaborate more? she was my feistiest enemy back in my teenage years, but it's quite amazing how we have turned that love-hate relationship into a unique and special mother-daughter-slash-almost-like-barkada bond that we have today. she may still have her anger management issues, but i'm so proud i have someone like her as a mom. dealing with the pinakamataray woman on the face of the planet has taught me and my siblings to be stronger as people. it feels like i can take on just about any type of person now, no one can take me down without a good fight.
2. Papa - my hero after Jackie Chan and the household chubby wubby. heehee, just thinking about my dad gives me a strong urge to hug. he has been my source of hugs and kisses, and even at this age, i still cannot help but act like a baby when i'm with him. for some unexplained reason, i turn into a baby-talking damulag. the scarier thing is, all three of us siblings still do that. i don't know what it is about him, but he always has the ability to make us feel like babies. just as my mom is the coolest mom, my dad is also as equally cool. and i love him to bits and pieces, all cookie-monster-eyes of him.
3. Michel - my sister with the wackiest sense of humor. when i thought she would grow up to be a loser because she was always so quiet and didn't socialize much when we were little, the complete opposite turned out. she has the uncanny ability to make me guffaw with laughter with just a one-liner. she's the person i can talk to about absolutely anything under the sun, all the kalokohans, and the kagaguhans. sometimes she even acts like an ate to me when i become all bratty and immature. she can shut me up anytime, and not a lot of people have the authority to do that to me. now that's saying a lot about her.
4. Bok - my pain in the ass. oh i'm sorry for being rude, that should be EVERYONE's pain in the ass. hahaha. there's one thing not a lot of people know though. i become the fiercest tigress when trying to protect my brother. he may be the baddest bad boy in the household, but he is still my youngest brother. for some reason, he gets to take my side when he starts to be in trouble. i may have moved out of the house for some time because of him, but 2 weeks without my comfort people was too unbearable. i couldn't stand being mad at him for long. and no, i don't get embarassed when i hug and kiss him in public. forgive me for being such a tae... i mean ate.
ok, i should've known 22 is quite a long list. naming all my friends and telling them how much i love them would take me until my next birthday, then i would have to make a new list of 23 people to be thankful for. oh no, those 4 are enough. for now anyways. i know my friends know deep down that i do love them and i would do anything for them. i have gotten myself in countless troubles trying to defend them from people who do them harm, and i have never had regrets about it. hmm, and cliche as it sounds but i never turn a deaf ear when it comes to a friend. i may be the hardest person to deal with at times, but i can never turn my back when a friend runs to me for comfort. if there are 2 sets of people i keep thanking God that I have, my family and friends (all stones4, UST and CA1 people)are definitely it.
besides, i don't have much time to think. i have to get home now and catch that frickin' new teleserye sugo on channel 7. i've said it over and over again but i swear, richard gutierrez, with that long mane, is simply HOT.
don't get me wrong though. i AM excited. like hell. it's only this time that i get to eat my favorite cake from goldilocks: mocha chiffon with pink icing at the sides (that i just love scooping out, much to my sweet tooth's delight. or teeth.) oh boy oh boy OH BOY! (hugs self)
gawd i can't believe i still have the attitude to be sarcastic about my own birthday. i should be thankful that God has given me another year to pester the world and its inhabitants some more. or it's probably because foul-mouthed, feisty, devil-may-care girls like me still have a lot of honing to go through before passing those angel standards they require to get up there. don't worry God, i'm getting there. little by little. i still have, what?
