28 December 2006
12 December 2006
christmas is going to the dogs
and then now, it's already the middle of december. you know, the actual christmas month. and i still can't friggin', fukken' feel it! and before i know it, it'll be like december didn't even happen at all. ain't that sad. again, i'm faced with my number one problem when the holidays roll in: buying presents for my loved ones. i've ranted about this everytime christmas kicks in, but i still have trouble finding the right presents to give to people. i know it's odd, i mean what person in his/her right mind has trouble picking out gifts for people closest to them? you got it: ME. i'm 2 weeks away from the deadline when gift-giving would've been over, and so far, my gift ideas are still down to a meaningful zero. way to go, idiot. coincidentally, i've been successful at finding myself the perfect black top-slash-dress, and peep-toe wedges half the original price. oh shit. someone's got some self-centered issues. guess who?
but on to more serious stuff... the reason why i think this christmas is starting to lose its spirit is the fact that two back-to-back storms have devastated the country in just a month. how can you be all tingtangily when people elsewhere are hanging on to a thread just to make ends meet after the storms had hit. i know i'm never the type to really be concerned about these kinds of stuff, but it's just hard to enjoy when thousands are currently suffering. i'm obviously not the one to talk about this, especially when all i seem to care about is, uh, myself (this really doesn't seem to be earning me VIP passes to the gates of heaven, does it?) no but seriously, i do feel bad. i hate it that things like this have to happen now, when people should be getting ready to celebrate and feast because this is the month that finds all the excuse to party. i don't feel right celebrating, not when shitty things keep happening to people who least deserve it. can't we just gather all the storm clouds and put them right above, say, houses of corrupt politicians for them to wreak havoc upon? i'm not being judgmental here, i just really really hate how the politics here is going. everyone just seems to want more money and will do anything to get that. i mean, there are more serious things going on right now, for cryin' out loud. argh, i hate them. i hate anything politics, period! if there are people who need to suffer, i think they should top the list.
whoa. ok, give me a minute to calm the rage... what's up with that?
i haven't written for a long time, and i can't start december with a shitty entry like this. so, let me just give a rundown on how things fared from a month ago:
PR team planning activity
we had our annual team planning activity, that one event that gives us an excuse to go out-of-town, or in other words, to just get the hell outta the office. heehee. the whole team - Liz, MM, Ingrid, Haze and moi - trooped to La Luz resort in Batangas since we can't go anywhere outside of Luzon to enjoy the grander beaches found in the other side of the country, i.e., Boracay or similar. i can't really say la luz wasn't so bad, when we didn't even get the chance to frolick in the water! call it absurd, that was the first time i went to the beach without actually going to the beach, know what i mean? we arrived on wednesday, and was supposed to stay until friday. but lo and behold, there ain't no stoppin' the storms from raining on our parade (pun intended). some typhoon with yet another stupid name was reportedly headed towards batangas (of all places naman, diba? kung nasa'n pa talaga kami) so after a full day of planning and a little drinking spree at night in laluz's very nice cabanas, we found ourselves packing up and heading home the next day. but it was still fun, mind. we witnessed the most breathtakingly beautiful beach sunset in the history of beach sunsets, and caught everything on cam (fine, i only caught a part of it since i was conveniently in the restroom, uh, relieving myself) but seriously, it was sooo beautiful even in pictures, i could've cried.

we are family. why i have to pose a like high school girl with PMS, i have no idea... house of siquijors
last week also had my whole family finally reuniting again (sans my dad, obviously)! we first had a taste of the whole clan when i got back from batangas. i was sick while at laluz, and was actually kinda glad we went home early since i couldn't eat well the whole time we were there. then when i got home, it turns out all 3 of us siblings were sick! even my prodigal brother was back because he had a fever, and only my mom cared enough to nurse him back. and yes, blood is always thicker than water so we all made peace *aww, hug!* and everything was normal again. although bok went back to san juan when he got better, i guess he likes being in my lolo's company. it's ok though, i think he tends to behave when he's there. and last friday, after all 4 of us heard mass at the edsa shrine, we had a family lunch at burgoo! my mom calls it a thanksgiving lunch since that was the first time we were together after our falling out. yes, we just luuurve all this family drama. *cue in mary j. blige*
turning japanese
last saturday found me having less rest time on a weekend, and at work again. FHM had an autograph signing with the december cover girl, so off i was to do me some media whoring. spent most of the afternoon with iwa moto (aka cover girl), and she turned out to be really nice and bubbly, who doesn't seem to run out of stories to tell. some old man even mistook me to be a sister of hers as i stood by at the autograph signing venue lol. very happy the way the event turned out, although i wasn't happy about working on a saturday haha.

that starbucks racket
... when they trick you into spending about 2 grand worth of coffee for a planner? yeah, i'm one of those tricked. hehe. finally got my 2007 starbucks planner! that's actually what sorta brightened me up today, since a bit of some shocking (and sad) news greeted us at lunch. sigh. let's see how 2007 will be for us, considering we'll be losing a great, if not the best, leader the department has had come january *sniff sniff* i do mean that! i wish she didn't have to go, but i guess things happen for a reason. and the reason for this better be daaamn good... ugh, i'm feeling sad again.
anyway, on to exciting news... the office party is happening on thursday, and that i can't wait for. just because i can't wait to see my officemates make fools of themselves dancing to so and so diva songs on stage again heehee. it's the 80's theme (can you say overrated?), but still i'm excited coz this time, i'll be sitting back, eating and drinking up, and enjoying the whole show! yeeha.
21 November 2006
just a break
so what's been up? a full week has passed, and to say my week was uneventful would be an understatement. so nothing has been up, same old work-home routine with nothing in between. the biggest news for me would have to be the fact that i finally started watching the 2nd season of lost! 84 years in the making! sorry macy, i know it's taking me forever to return them, but i swear i'll definitely finish them before this month ends ;) promise promise promise! besides, season 3 is already airing in the states so gotta catch up and see why the heck they still can't find a way out of that freakin' island.
another big (not to mention shocking) news is the departure of one of my good good college girl friends, quinnie, to vietnam. for good! she got this kick-ass job there via the net. (tugs at hair) i knew there was more to the internet other than free mp3, episode downloads, and porn... err, not that i'd know about the porn part. lol. i can't believe my friends are starting to leave one by one by one by one by one (if you count 'em all) for the bigger world that's out there. i miss them all, i swear! but i really am happy for quinnie, at least she had the decency to inform us she was leaving, and made sure to see us one last time before she jets off. glad to know those couple of years' friendship didn't just go to a state of wala lang even after college ended. just being real haha *wink* make us proud, quinnie! you're gonna be grrrreat out there!
then yesterday was best gurp sarah's 23rd birthday! i managed to meet her at megamall after work, good thing her monday nights are free so that gave us time to... err, celebrate. if you can call sitting at a coffeehouse that, something we do each and everytime we get the chance to hang out. but surprises await, whether good or bad - as i was about to snack on my chowking dinner nearing midnight, my mom texts and says she was going to the hospital because of chest pains. sure her asthma attacks are getting kinda worse than normal these days, but nothing the doctor's medications can't cure. mom and hospital aren't exactly two of the words i'd like used in the same sentence, especially when she was all alone at home that night because:
A) my dad is oceans apart from home,
B) i was out late that hour,
C) my sister was at night duty for her internship,
D) my brother is still currently deported.
so imagine my thrill (or disguised panic, more like) when the guilt starts creeping from out of nowhere because I was supposed to be at home with her that night. sarah was kind enough to spend the remaining minutes of her birthday accompanying me to the most unlikely place to spend the remaining minutes of a birthday i.e., a hospital, so yey to the heavens that there was nothing wrong with my mom when we got there. quite a scare for a monday night, but we spent most of the waiting time pretending some pinoy McDreamy will show up as her attending physician, and acting out dragging my mom out of bed as quickly as possible so i can be the patient instead. told her pa-cool "parent stories" (it's an inside office joke) involving my dad's really hip expressions ("are you still in the office chitchatting?" and "stop your cigarette and booze intake, will you?) and MM's mom's uber-cool expression ("you happy bunch of nuts") to crack her up. midnight snacked at wendy's, and had an impromptu slumber party as sarah opted to spend the night at home.
and today, a quiet tuesday is almost ending. but this is what got my blood pumping the shit out of my veins as i checked my mail this afternoon - the release of PLAYSTATION 3. it's really here. it's really OUT. you can actually reserve at toys 'r us this early. seriously.
i mean, really. SERIOUSLY. (channelling izzie stevens)

manic weekend

hangover or no hangover, had to get up early the next day (by early, i mean at noon - hey, shoot me for sleeping all day on saturdays!) because there was work to be done. yes, weekends aren't sacred for us. the totally jammin' part 2 happened at jam 88.3 with total girl mag editor-in-chief shiloah matic as guest dj with Lana from 4:30 to 7pm. it was a breeze, considering this was the second time we were doing it. lots of tween girls and total girl mag readers really tuned in, so that was really cute. hung out with mm afterwards at starbucks (she had work, too - media whoring at startalk for yes! magazine) and unmindful of the time, just talked until around 11pm. oh diba, hindi kasi kami nagkikita araw-araw.
as for my sunday night... sarah's friend got free tickets to a PBA game, so sarah invited me to come. and she wouldn't take no for an answer even if i had to battle my unmerciful menstrual cramps all day. (oops, too much info there) after hearing mass, michel and i made our way to araneta where ginebra was going against talk 'n text. i've never been to a PBA game, and the last time i remember actually watching one was way back in elementary, when i seriously rooted for san miguel over ginebra (for a change, just because everyone else was rooting for ginebra) anyways, had a free box of krispy kreme (!!) after, and just basically watched ginebra lose the game (a difference of 20-something freakin' points!) sarah and i had a theory that they were drinking spiked pomelo all throughout the game (siguro yun yung gatorade nila, that's why they sucked. they must've been drunk) i just realized one thing though, i really do love watching basketball after all. i thought it was just the UAAP thing, but i was surprised at how into the game i was as i screamed and cheered (and jeered) at the play. i didn't really side with any team, pero ang bano ng ginebra, promise. or maybe because talk 'n text was just incredibly good, ayaw ata nila masyado sa points. i can't believe how many fans ginebra still has, practically more than half the dome were rooting for them. i thought the whole ginebra craze was over after jaworski senior retired from basketball. which was like, back when my age was still one digit. but anyways, luurve it. luurve basketball.
the mica dialogues
ME: naaalala ko si bok kay mac (cardona). magkamukha ba sila?
MICHEL: hindi. pareho kasi silang mayabang eh.
ME: ah, oo nga noh.
you gotta love family.
crap, it's monday again tomorrow. it's like i just blinked and the weekend just whooshed (?) by. hello, work. we meet again.

perfection is boring
if you happen to chance upon this pic with something edible in your mouth, then i'm very sorry for ruining your appetite. just think of it as... pepperoni? anyways, i'm no stranger to zits; i've spent a big chunk of my latter teenage years battling them until i got over the whole crazy puberty and hormone madness. but seriously, having a zit that can rival uranus in size is just a pain! literally. i haven't had one this huge, in like, ever! fine, i might be stretching that a little bit... gaaahh i simply hate it when the red season comes up. is that a code for the monthly acne get-together? 2 words: NOT. FUNNY.
LOL. damn right. perfection IS boring. i get a total kick out of seeing that red spot smiling back at me when i face the mirror. ho-hum.
on to other news...
i want my PS2 back. my brother abducted the thing when he moved out to san juan (well actually, he didn't. my lolo asked for it, and i willingly gave it away) now i want it back! i miss gaming! especially now that squaresoft released the latest installment to the final fantasy series, final fantasy XII. i have something to spend 12-hours straight in front of the telly with again. check out the lead girl, looking hot FF-style, as usual.

ashe, the 17-year old chick who i bet is the main damsel, has a heart of gold and the type who wouldn't hurt a fly. i haven't even finished final fantasy 10, and already they're on the 12th installment?? i obviously have a lot of brushing up to do. i used to be so good at this. tsk. but check out how good it's done. i bet the game will be one whole treat to the eyes again: CG galore!
owkei, gamerdorkapalooza moment right there.

i'm luvin...
so anyway, apart from work that seems to want to tear me to shreds one way or another, i still managed to give myself a lot of me time over the week by catching three great movies! the three ones that are worth watching on the big screen anyway. now this may sound really lame, but to me it ain't, because if you knew the rate of how many movies i've seen this year, watching 3 flicks in the span of 7 days is actually a miracle.
to start out, i've finally seen the departed starring leo dicaprio, matt damon, jack nicholson and directed by martin scorsese. but you probably all know that. i just can't believe how many superstars can be in the same movie, not to mention mark wahlberg, martin sheen, alec baldwin. i saw the movie with fran and marianne last saturday in megamall. it's based on the Hong Kong film infernal affairs (starring edison chen, so don't be surprised why i know this), and i'm sooo not disappointed the way the departed turned out. infernal affairs trilogy is like The Godfather of the hongkong movie world, and after watching the hollywood remake, i'm very happy that it came up to par with the original because believe me when i say this but infernal affairs is really good (again, i'm not just saying that because edison's in it). or maybe i really am a fan of cop and mafia movies so i enjoy all the police chase, blood and gore. to those who've seen the departed, i recommend you also see the original infernal affairs 1&2 (the second one is a prequel, which i think is much much better than the first).
i also saw the guardian with my sister last sunday just because we're big ashton kutcher fans. although i'm not going to elaborate on how good the movie is, i can go on and on how ashton is just probably THE most inhumanely hottest being alive. but fine, the movie's really good, too. i have a short-attention span and tend to get bored easily, but surprisingly, this movie held my attention all throughout. but then again, it was probably because of ashton.
and finally, to celebrate my friday and the fact that no one has strangled me yet at work, i decided to see the prestige. alone. yes, i am that desperate to see this movie that i don't care if i was sitting at row J in my lonesome while couples littered row I and row K, completely surrounding me. hugh jackman this time, and i've been hearing great reviews about this movie so i don't want another weekend to pass without me seeing it. and what a great movie it turned out to be! it was definitely worth sitting there for 2 hours watching 2 hot men fight it out, me favoring hugh jackman than christian bale, of course. incredible twist, you wouldn't have seen it coming in the end.
and so saturday, i sit here. watching the latest episodes from the latest seasons of grey's anatomy courtesy of myra, and one tree hill courtesy of youtube. i'm loving meredith again, she reminds me how i am when i'm drunk when she's on morphine. but needless to say, i'm still on team addison. and team finn, too! on the tree hill side, i'm loving brooke davis, just because she's my favorite gorgeous bitch.
ok, must enjoy the weekend the best that i can, because first thing on monday, work's going to be a killer. whew.
PS: to ro and kris, thanks for your prayers re: the gh thing i was so dead worried about last week. it did work out, and i'm still praying everything goes swimmingly on monday. :) luv u guys!
01 November 2006
start the weekend with a BOINK!
it was a night honoring Marie Claire's Women of the World for 2006; they started out with 25 women last year when they first launched the magazine, and they sorta did that again this year with 10, and comemmorate the mag's 1st year anniversary alongside it (grab the november issue, lucy torres-gomez with bangs on the cover) so anyways, there we were at ayala museum last oct 27. among the 10 women of the world were angel aquino, lizzie zobel, yoly ong, gaby dela merced, and some others i haven't really heard of before. and oh yeah, nora daza.now, nora daza will hold a special place in my system from then on because the rest of my night revolved around the incident where i made a dufus of myself trying to get her for press interviews. i mean, who doesn't know nora daza? her name is like synonymous to food, she's probably in the dictionary with a "cooking god" equivalent. anyways, some press crews wanted to get her for an interview during the event, and so we waited for her to arrive. after a few, i heard nora daza was already there so i rushed over to the reception area and saw her. it was amusing because i thought she looked younger for her age - i was told she's 78. i double checked and asked an officemate manning the reception if the woman in white was her. so then PR mode, i approached her and did the usual introductions and told her some press people would like to get her for an interview on what it's like to be one of the women of the world. i thought it funny that she started telling me how she just got back from the states, yada yada. i was starting to drag this woman to the interview area to be fed to the media when ingrid grabs me and tells me that the woman wasn't nora daza. blink blink. nora daza was the woman in purple, who was walking before the woman in white. eep! i never wished more for the floor to open up and swallow me WHOLE than i did that precise moment. unbe-fucking-lievable. imagine the shame. so i made a mad dash for nora daza (the real one) and kept myself out of sight from the mistaken woman in white the rest of evening, while laughing it off as i downed glass after glass of moet hennesy (thank you sponsor) but if anything, the woman in white was certainly a younger dead ringer for nora daza, so excuse my confusion for a while there. nakngtokwa, good thing i adored my outfit much to make up for my stupidity: vintage-esque dress and ika nga ni McHotboy, the "nakakamatay" knee-high boots. courtesy of ukay-ukay and a shoestore's 50% off sale. long live, the cheapskate.
so two events back-to-back in just one week, and we still managed to live after. it's funny how we all transform according to the magazine's image for every event. as liz puts it, she's making a collage of a before-and-after of all of us - from a high school, just-turned-16 look for the candy fair, to business attire for the entrepreneur 10, to a womanly, cocktail-ish take for the marie claire women of the world. LOL! ang galing! see how pretty we all looked that marie claire night :)
OMG. i have got to stay out of the sun, i can barely see myself in this pic!

What does Mica stand for?
LOL.
I was stupid enough to type www.mica and press Enter immediately without completing the whole URL address of my blog, and interestingly, it led me to this website. it's an entire page about Mica, apparently some computer shit program, going on and on about what Mica is. i had this sudden notion to connect it to me, the Mica person, and it's just really funny... first off, i had a kick out of reading this:
In jargon...
Mica is: An interpreter for a garbage collected, dynamically typed, object-oriented language with prototype-based inheritance, multiple dispatch, strict encapsulation and capabilities for security, optional orthogonal persistence, and functional programming features (anonymous functions, functional lists and dictionaries, map and filter operators).
"... interpreter for a garbage collected... language"? already, that sounds very much like me. hahaha!
Mica provides transparent persistence, meaning the objects that you use in your application will be there the next time you restart Mica.
hmm. "provides transparent persistence". i like that. i'd like to think i'm like that.
Mica is designed to concurrently execute many sessions at once.
wahahaha! i knew it! i am the master of multi-tasking! but seriously, i doubt this one. i can't even finish one simple, menial task without taking up hours and hours. if only i can incorporate that in my system, since technically (literally), i'm "designed" like that.
Mica provides the tools to make sure the objects you create in a running collaborative application can be made secure and won't be overwritten by others.
heyyy. guess who's the go-to person? :-P hahaha!
for my functional programming, this is what it says:
Mica is, for all intents and purposes an imperative language. That is, its expressions can have what are called "side-effects" -- variables can change, objects can be mutated, etc. A pure functional language does not allow for mutation, and encourages programs to be written as successive applications of functions to the results of other functions. In this sense, Mica is not a functional language.
my expressions can have what are called "side-effects". hmm. i wonder what expressions those are. the only expressions that escape my mouth are pure profanity, anyways. haha! "imperative but not functional". that's interesting. what does imperative mean again? the last time i must've heard that and understood must've been in 3rd grade. you know, in English class... nouns, et al?
Mica does borrow some ideas from the world of functional programming, however. Mica's built-in lists, strings, maps, and sets are "functional" in the sense that they are immutable: making a change to a value returns a new value, rather than changing the old one.
see the sense in that? "making a change to a value returns a new value". i'm having a hard time dissecting this, but i'm getting this feeling if i really were a computer program, this is exactly how i'd be. EXACTLY.
OMG, i actually have a computer software alter-ego!
The API for Mica's type library is adapted from the Edison library for Haskell.
OK, i knew it. i am this computer software! i mean what are the odds my type of library is adapted from the EDISON library? ring a bell? edison chen? the love of my life for years? ok, never mind.
oh hey that was fun. what an idiotic way to jumpstart my morning lol.
yes. first of all, it's 9AM, it's a holiday and i'm already up. not only am i up, but i'm at work. you read it right. A-T W-O-R-K. i had a morning show to go to prior (hello 4AM!), and now i'm sitting at my old, filthy desk again, just where i'd been 12 hours ago, worried sick about another event happening tomorrow. so i might as well worry the day away at the office, instead of trying to relax at home to no avail, because the whole day, i'll be thinking of nothing but the event anyway. excuse this crappy entry, my brain is obviously still scrambled up, and i'm just trying to wake it up by getting it to function this early.

feeling high school
yesterday was like going in a time machine to (6... 7...) years ago as we took part in the Certified Candy Fair event at the Fort. it was such a high school event, it was really nostalgic to watch all these young, carefree people with no worries in the world find fun just by mingling and being all cutesy. i've morphed into this introvert cynic over the years that just meeting new people becomes a chore sometimes. so anyways, we were there from 1pm until around 7pm. it was really tiring being up on our toes the whole day, and it didn't help that the heat was just unreal. but it was still a very fun event, i can imagine how fun it must have been for teenaged girls and boys who were there (jail booth, marriage booth... sooo high school) but the eyecandy presence of the really cute Candy Cuties made it much more fun :) sheesh, i know. can you say "cradle-snatcher"? my fascination for young, cute boys is starting to freak me out, too.
so the PR team was in full force, as always. funny thing that we all showed up wearing chuck taylors when none of us talked about it! (boss liz was in converse din) talk about team spirit! we survived another event, i think we can get the hang of this in no time. we have 2 more events happening within the week, this month is really a killer. i can't wait for october to be oct-OVER.
pic props
here's a pic courtesy of the newest PR baby, haze. the PR assholeshits, i mean associates (hehe) caught in a moment of reverie as we took one last break before we called it a night. i can't even remember when this was taken. oohh, it was after a verrrryyy tiring day of tv touring. a hearty dinner after, capped with yosi. sarap. wala lang, rare roment of relaxation.
i can almost hear REM's "everybody hurts" playing in the background. LOL.

Current music: Hed Kandi Beach House 2002
finally! beach + weather that can rival a perfect summer day in april = natural high not even a spiked brownie can give. i'd like to thank mars for a really unbeatably relaxing and stress-free weekend ;) i'll make this short and sweet, i just want to say that nothing could beat lying on the soft sand, and plunging in the cool seawater with the sun in a blue and cloudless sky, while listening to soothing house music playing in a nearby bar in a (unusually!) quiet and almost-empty galera beach. and you ask why i love the beach and keep coming back? because it's a piece of heaven on earth, that's why! i can never tire of doing that, the day i do is the day my body is six feet underground.
to mars, and to the rest of the BeachGirls - myra, fran, and mons - we did it again! on to our next beachstop: BORACAY! 2007 has got to be the year!

yey i'll be on the beach again in a few hours! it hasn't really sunk in yet. i wish the sun would be up this time, my TANorexia is getting worse.

starting the day broken
ok, to clear the air, my brother isn't doing anything horrible like dealing drugs or killing people. he's just really... a big pain in the ass who has no plans of changing for the better. there's always been money issues involved, and it's just really frustrating that he can't fix himself and get better. so my mother had to send him away, to live with my lolo in san juan where he'll be away from us for a while. he might have felt like it was an act to get rid of him for good, and that's probably what it looked like. but my mom thinks it's a way for him to re-assess himself and his character. but my brother clearly didn't see it like that. there's no sign of reconciliation on either part, and i admit both parties are very wrong at some point. no one is sorry, no one is planning to fix things. i don't know if i should take on the reins as the hero and patch things up for everyone, but i actually don't know where i stand. i'm not so sure i've fully forgiven my brother yet.
but just this morning, i thought of him. i thought how long it's been since i last saw or talked to him... it was the day after his birthday in august, and i woke up to a big fight between him and my mom. he was furious because my mom didn't give him a million pesos to throw a party for his friends. i think he's completely missing the part where he realizes that we don't exactly own a vault full of diamonds and gold. we never were rich, and i don't think we'll ever be. just to put food on the table 3x a day, clothes on our backs, and a shelter above our heads are enough reasons to make my parents toil here and abroad. and so after that fight, i neither saw nor talked to my brother again. not until this morning. i saw him as i went out of the house to go to work, and i saw him coming my way (his school is only a few blocks away from our house) it must've been the surprise of not seeing him for a long time that i had this uncanny urge to... hug him for some reason. but he kept on walking, and when i tried tugging him to talk to him, he pushed me away. hmm. still that mad, i guess. so i turned around and walked away, and seriously wished some sleazy guy would have a go at me so i can have the perfect excuse to punch someone. it's so difficult to juggle so many emotions at the same time... anger, sadness, hate, love.
so i did what i rarely do, cry it all out on the bus on my way to work. my brother broke my heart, and i hate to say it but that really hurt. i can't even remember a boy causing me that much pain. this whole family drama thing is getting really tiring, and even if no one is saying anything about it, the feeling of hurt is our silent elephant in the room. my dad is coming home for the holidays again, and i'm not quite sure we'll actually be a complete family by then. so many hate, so little time. christmas is fast approaching, and it's always been the perfect season for us. somehow, i don't think that'll happen this year.

it's made for M-E
i could have sworn they probably made this phone thinking of a certain pink-obsessed girl living in the suburbs of manila, philippines named mica. i think it's just absolutely perfect! i've seen phones come and go, some were really ok but nothing came close to me being all gaga over it. the nokia 7373 isn't even out in the local market yet, but i think i'm willing to dish out some actual paper to purchase this. i've been a handyphone owner for seven years now, and the times that i've switched phones (about 5 times already), none of them i paid for on my own. hangkuripot talaga. 3 were gifts, 2 were hand-me-downs. but daym, i can't wait for this lady to come out, i swear i'll be one of the first in line to have this.

no two days are the same
so in a way, i had to arrange interviews for certain shows - and that entailed me having to find out the schedules of each of the stars, and hound them on their location shoots. i met francine prieto yesterday and she was really just genuinely nice and sweet, and had absolutely no air about her which i think is fantastic. and this afternoon, i had to stalk katrina all the way in the far reaches of fairview on the set of the film supernoypi. i've never been on an actual set of a movie, so that was really interesting for me. i met this american special effects make-up artist, who told me the entire history of his career as an artist. even if i only understood less than half of what he was talking about, it was a good way to pass the time because i must've hung out there for a while waiting for the startalk crew. it wasn't long until they got there, and katrina was successfully interviewed yey. she was still gracious the entire time despite the fact that she must've had no sleep at all (may sa-handler na ata dating ko eh, alam ko na schedule ng tapings niya wow) and points for FHM too.
fangirl moment
i was asking the production assistant, kerwin, who the stars of the movie were, and he named them one by one (katrina, john, sandara, jennylyn, and.... MARK.) as in mark herras. as in mark crush-ko-na-siya-since-starstruck-pa-siya mark. oo na, jologs na kung jologs, but i really have a thing for the bad boy-ish type... who can dance, too! and mark is both! *weee* 740 bajillion pogi points in my book! barok nga siya pero care, gwapo naman sumayaw. so i found out he was there, and it wasn't long until kerwin was dragging me all the way to his car to introduce me, after i've pretty much squealed my heart out knowing we were practically just inches away from each other. (ok, maybe not squeal, but i did sound excited) as i stood in front of mark, i couldn't look him in the eye while he was just there smiling gorgeously (sorry, i know this maybe grossing some of you out, but really, the guy is a charmer) and all i could muster to say was "hehehe... uhm... wala lang..." mother of heaven and earth. three sentences all in all, two of which weren't even actual words. the katrina interview ended in no time and i whisked myself far away from him right after, killing any chances of embarassing myself further by i dunnow, breaking into a song and dance perhaps.
FHM
so while i'm on the topic, allow me to segue to shameless plugging again. as mentioned, three fantabulous covers only the best magazine in town can offer... it's katrina halili, francine prieto, and assunta de rossi for the picking. they do all have same contents each, but the cover stories vary depending on who's on the cover (well, duh. ain't that a brainer) a definite must-have collector's item. if that doesn't send you running straight to the nearest mag stand, i don't know what will :)

05 October 2006
there's a funny incident that happened to me this morning. as i was fixing my hair (which by the way i'm loving more and more now just because it's beginning to look great. haha sorry, but my hair is the only thing i probably like about me physically.) when my mom comes in the room. i blink at her for a good two seconds when i realized that she looked like she just had a haircut, so of course i commented on it. she blinks back at me and tells me she's had that hair for a long time now. ouch. so much for missing out at home. i've been going home as late as 10:30 the past few nights since i got back to work for some apparent reason, and true enough, i see less and less of mama-san and sister-san. my brother doesn't live with us at the moment for really troubled reasons, but sometimes, it's kinda sad to go home to a sort-of "empty" house. the only time i've really spent with my mom and sister was during the perpetual blackout during the weekend, when we really got the chance to talk and bond over tong-its. i hate it that i can't find time to be with them now, i do miss talking to my mom and my sister. lo and behold, it's 10PM and i'm still here at work.
we be trippin'
by the end of the month, my officemates and i are planning to go to baguio to spend halloween! our new recruit, haze (or hez, or hezelin as i love calling her) is a true baguio native. and since mm and i are dying to go anywhere out of the city (first option was to join the surf camp in La Union. but being the cheapskates that we are, we naturally begged off), we're all planning to go up the mountains and stay at haze's! i'm really, seriously excited about it. i haven't gone up to baguio for the longest time, and every trip holds really good memories. actually, i'm just really excited to get away again. as the man lenny sings it, i wanna fly away. yeah. yeah. yeah.
toldja, senseless and pointless. and now i'm craving for my bed, so i ought to make that trip home now.
ch-ch-changes
ok, what the eff is wrong with me? i'm actually giving myself options now??
can you keep a secret?
june showed me this website, and i think it's pretty cool. it's called postsecret, and it's got people sending in their innermost secrets on postcards. it's incredible sometimes, you won't believe some of the secrets that people actually keep. it kinda makes me feel better about my life once in a while, knowing that i'm actually doing OK pa pala compared to some of the people in the world who've had to keep secret their real sexual orientation, their insecurities, their real feelings towards a person (ay wait, guilty din pala ako du'n haha), and a lot of deep and sometimes shallow shit. really amusing. a book even came out on this, and is only being sold on amazon, and i want one! *cough* christmas wishlist *cough* hehe. i don't know if it's my chismosa nature that makes me want to find out about undivulged secrets from anonymous people, but it really is interesting. check out the site and see. it posts new secrets every Sunday and erases the old ones, so try and see it once a week. :)

great game, grabe
UST WON!!!! GO USTE!!!
i can't be any prouder, i'm so happy they actually won the season. no one, absolutely no one saw it coming... who would've thought that a team who barely won their games in the prelims would walk out of the season as champions? i knew it... the underdogs will always be victorious in the end. i can go on and on how beaming with pride i am right now, but it's really amazing. the growling tigers didn't have much in the team - no superstar player in the roster, first-time coach, bottom half during the first half of the season.. they had a lot to prove to get to where they are. they had to beat a number of really good teams twice to make it to the finals. and playing against ateneo wasn't a walk in the park, either. three really heart-stopping, be-at-the-edge-of-your-seat games later, thomasian pride was just unbelievably overwhelming. call me cheesy, but i love my school, and i most definitely love college basketball. it's the only sport i've ever really gotten hooked into - not even PBA, NBA, or the frickin' World Cup got me this intense over a game. haha. i know, it's my refusal to grow up and my eternal love for college and everything about it that makes me this nostalgic every single time.so anyways, off to victory parties left and right to go to. not like i actually know of a victory party happening, considering the rain decided to celebrate with us and pour its blessings immensely. basta, i'm so happy. sooo happy. yellow day tomorrow wheee :)

bora bumming
hehe:) can't help it, storm or no storm, i don't think i can pass up the chance to go to the beach for four glorious days and soak it up... kahit walang araw, basta nasa dagat ako, i'm fine. i think anyone who knows me fairly well can attest to how much i love the beach, and that's where i spent most of my past week. away from work, away from the city, away from the stress... away from it all. it's only my second time to be in bora, but even if a year has passed since i last went there, it's like i've never gone. ang sarap ng feeling, to be one with the beach. feel na feel ko na local ako, i've always had this fantasy of living on the beach anyways, so whenever i'm actually on the beach, i tend to feel that i'm from there. so yun, usual beachbumming was had... although i think i spent about 70% of my time sleeping, for some unknown reason. i don't know why i was so sleepy the whole time. and i tried skimboarding!! this kid taught me how, and i think i kinda got the basics... after falling on my butt for a good number of times. LOL!
it was just what i needed, a timely escape from everything that's happened lately. sobrang kailangan lang talaga mawala. and now, it's battling the beach hangover that i have to get over with. i can't wait until i get back again. any beach, anywhere.

black gold, black white!
i can't effing believe it. after what seems to be an entire lifetime, UST miraculously gets in the finals! woot woot! i never thought i'd see the day! i'm really happy for us, i've gone to USTe for four years and never did they come close to even being halfway through to the semifinals round! so to see them battling for the ultimate title is a real heartstopper right there. whew. it's been ten years since they've last tasted the victory of a championship, and i'm really happy we're thisclose to being that again! even if they're playing against the (emphasis there. i lavet how they pronounce it like that) ateneo, i'm still confident they can pull it off *crossing fingers* i mean c'mon, the underdogs always get the last laugh right? who knows, maybe this will be the year! ;)i'm one of those who are really into the whole UAAP craze, even if i don't go to school anymore. of course i don't watch as often as before, but the school spirit in me never went away. i'm always proud to say what school i'm from (dapitan, yo!) i think spending 4 crazy years in uste did me real good - it made me insanely sane. it opened me up to everything, that just being yourself is really the coolest gift you can give yourself, that conio doesn't necessarily equals coolness (i've had too much of this back in high school. i think that's another thing i thank UST for, for making me realize how very fun it is to just be - outrageously crazy, tagalog-loving, flexible, can-hangout-with-people-from-all-walks-of-life person) if it weren't for UST, i wouldn't be this jologs and bakla, and proud of it! i can go on and on why i love UST, it will take me forever to enumerate each and every moment that made me never want to leave that school - to hang out in pav forever, to walk around the campus at night during christmas time with the cool breeze, the lanterns on trees, the Paskuhan, the tambay times outside uste, the wastenights at momo's, cutting class to have merienda at lovelite. pocha, nakakamiss na talaga. basta, sobra sobrang madami, and just reminiscing about them gives me a strange pain... knowing there's no way to go back to that super happy state in my life. my friends have gone on with their lives - some here, some abroad. it's so different now, we're all so different now compared to how completely deranged we were back in college. hay.
somehow, UST going to the UAAP finals makes me have a little taste of what's it like to be college again. as i always used to say, i'd do anything to be back in college once more - i'd even grab any opportunity that would take me close to feeling what's it like all over again. and yeah, i'm sure thomasians all over are also ecstatic about this. i'm so excited to watch the game live, regardless if we win or not. at least the Growling Tigers proved enough by roaring their way to the finals! who would've thunk it?? the only challenge now is to eat the eagles alive. haha, kidding. GO USTE! :)

cosmo bachelor bash '06(9)
it's been days since the ever-chaotic cosmopolitan bachelor bash took place (tuesday, september 12), that one event that calls people of ALL genders together to appreciate the physical anatomy of the male form in its natural beauty. yup, who said media isn't also about science and the academe shit? the cosmopolitan magazine did everyone a very nice favor, and took all the most beautiful male species in the metro, stripped them down to their undies revealing the male body in its perfection, for the female (and a variety of confused male) population to study and be familiar with. a very educational event, some might say.
and boy, did i learn a thing or two! as always, the bachelor bash left my jaws wide open and my drool continuously wiped away as the most beautiful men cascaded right in front of me barely wearing anything to cover up their precious, leaving almost nothing to the imagination. loves it! not to sound perverted, but if those were men one will usually see in pick-up joints say, in quezon city circle then i'd probably be the first to throw them a bottle of broken san mig light at their faces, but i'm not talking about the cheap kind of men. i'm talking about the really really good kind. the kind you'd be happy to take home and wish to make lots of babies with *ahem* haha! hey, don't take my word for it! i know i'm speaking on behalf of all the women who were there to witness a revolution of male beauty only a privileged few could enjoy. my lucky stars are constantly thanked that i am one of them ;)
but anyways, the cosmo bachelor bash is known to be the other deadly event (after FHM), and i'm so happy we finally got it over with! it's the first time a major event was handled by an entirely new team, but kris was still there to help us out (bless 'er) so it wasn't so bad and hard as we thought it would be. very happy the way it turned out, although i must say the past events were a lot better. this year's theme was all about "boyfriend material/boy-next-door" type, basta it wasn't the usual bachelor bash. nevertheless it was still very very good, the models particularly really stole the show! i'd post pics here but my blogger is a bit screwed and won't let me post pics properly anymore so i posted them all at my multiply account for everyone to enjoy! ogled most of the night away, couldn't help it especially when the most gorgeous men in the metro are right in front of you for the picking! loves it.
10 September 2006
... then there were 3
we all started with this:

the first family i've known at summit. that band of sisters with me and m (that's us 2 at right) as the resident babies. everything i learned about this industry, i must've learned from them. they're the big sisters i never had, until they slowly started to leave. ro was the first to go (middle, in stripes) then about three months after, treena did too (leftmost). it really felt like being orphaned, although some might say it's foolish to cling on to people especially in the workplace because nothing really is permanent. but still, it gets really sad letting go of one person after the other, especially if you consider each other really good friends even outside the office. just a couple of weeks ago, we had to say goodbye to yet another. kris went away too, and that leaves our team with just me, m, and ingrid, who came in back in april. and of course we are now being led by a new and fabulous boss liz after treena left, and everything has been smooth sailing. new stuff are learned now, which is always a good thing.
so yeah, it still feels like we're all headless chickens running around... trying to make sense of what we're really supposed to do now that we're the only ones left to fend for ourselves. with the cosmo bachelor bash literally just a couple of days away, i seriously thought we'd probably drop dead from all the promoting that we were gonna do, if we are to compare to how it was done last year. i remember finishing up tapings at about 1am then waking up at 5am to do a morning show with some of the boys for like, 2 weeks straight. it was such a good thing the bachelor bash is always the perfect excuse to check out cute boys for WORK, otherwise it would've been such a drag. but this year has been pretty smooth sailing, and i don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. anyways, all energy must be saved for tuesday because then, madness is surely to set loose.
i've only met a handful of this year's bachelors, and as always it's a blast meeting new people. my last year's experience still tops my most memorable list, because not only did i bond like sisters with the rest of my team, but we also made some really good bachelor friends while at it. some of them have made it big already, but still manage to remember us "cosmo girls" :) makes me miss the former pr girls even more, it didn't feel like work while we did it even if we were all really super tired. but working with them like a real team beat all the exhaustion. good times, good times.
shameless plugging
last friday, i spent an entire day with FHM September cover girl Ehra Madrigal because we had to go around radio stations to promote her autograph signing happening that night at Filbar's in Megamall. she was just an amazingly beautiful and very grounded person, and although i can say my dealing with people has come in handy because it's part of my job, ehra is someone you won't have a hard time getting along with. she's very bubbly and very animated... it's really refreshing to meet celebs like her who aren't too full of themselves despite their fame or their incredible beauty. so yeah, it was a successful autograph signing. check her out on this month's cover, she's a gem. ;)

"holy granola!"
a college anecdote that i simply must share to whoever is interested. i need to write about something... anything! i feel like i haven't been writing as much as i want to, reserving blog entries only to special occasions with corresponding photos just to spice it up, which rarely happens now. thus, giving less opportunities to write at all. but right now, i don't care. i will rack my brain for anything just so i can keep the screws in my head working, and my pretty little fingers typing away. i'm feeling a big need to "cultivate the skill", to "enhance the gift", to "keep the wheels turning", and already i'm running out of metaphors.
i had a pretty good week. by pretty good, i mean no panic attacks in mid-day, no emergency urges to go out and smoke. oh i did blow off one day, but that was really lame anyways. i did have a good week. stable, even. and i capped it with a crazy friday that i haven't had in ages. i started it by buying a pair of shoes that cost me an arm and a leg. i had no idea what got into me, maybe it was kris' presence that made me do it because you know, being around shoepaholics is a very contagious thing. ha! but i'm all thanks kris, i wouldn't have found those babies if you didn't point them out to me :) it was the most adorable pair of shoes i've probably gotten, they're hot pink pumps with thick heels that stand at around 4 inches high or so. it's the perfect addition to my growing devil wears prada shoe collection, it's the 2nd pair. LOL! but seriously, it's a self-gratification thing... i felt i really had to reward myself with something. it looks exactly like this but imagine a hot pink color with black lining. minus the shiny effect, mine is all leather. pink leather ;)
i could've taken the pic and posted the real thing, but let's get those imaginations working, eh? of course i just had to wear them the whole day, so i can break my feet in also. which turned out to be a bad idea because that night, i was scheduled to get wasted. my girl claire stopped by the office after work, and quinnie and i planned to go out drinking so we tagged her along. we first planned on going to sidebar in el pueblo but fortunately for all of us, rx was having their anniversary party at capone's, and we were invited to partake in the celebration (read: open bar) so who am i to deny myself such blessing? it was a cool party, lots of people and bands and noise and drinking. i even bumped into this guy i dated, and will devaughn whom i will be working again for the upcoming bachelor bash (whoopee!) the best-boy-bud-of-all-time gabs followed after and there were 4 of us enjoying the free-flowing drinks courtesy of fab fab RX 93.1 (big love to raffy r for the invite!) fine, so then i got a bit drunk but was very VERY behaved! although i did spend the next couple of hours or so barfing on some street in makati outside quinnie's car. hey, at least i was courteous enough not to do it INSIDE the car.i wanna take this opportunity to honor friends who get your back every single time. the possibility of me passing out on the streets that night was alarmingly high, but i wouldn't have gotten home safe and sound if it weren't for them. big love, guys (and quinnie's car)! i forgot how fun it is to drink, let's do that again!
i didn't know the event was going to be a blast so screw me for not bringing a camera to document the night. but really, it was fun. and i think what made it more fun was the fact that i was with actual friends and didn't feel like i was working by being all PR to strike up conversations with strangers / possible business contacts. although i couldn't resist table-hopping once in a while (hence, getting drunk) i don't know if i'm happy to say this, but it seems like i do live and breathe PR now. cool. at least i know i'm in the right field, after all.

in a state of lost
amazing how a two-day weekend feels like two hours. it's sunday night again and in less than 12 hours, i will be up and about bouncing to work like i did barely a day ago. but it's ok, i had it spent glued to the telly watching a new tv series care of my amazing officemate macy who lent me the first season of lost (thanks, macy! :) ) well, it ain't new but after the hype over lost has died down is only the time that i get to catch up on what the fuss is all about. and it is kick-ass! thank the heavens for tv shows on dvd. seriously.
anyways, i'm not about to diagnose the show because i'm not even halfway done watching, but it is crazy! i cannot imagine what genius of a guy would think of a plot about plane crash survivors trapped on some enchanted island somewhere in the south pacific with polar bears and wild boars and worse, dinosaur-like monsters frolicking about. AND make serious drama about it. *clap clap* i've always read about evangeline lilly and dominic monaghan's romance off-screen and seen pictures of them both paparazzi-style, so it's odd watching their characters on the show being nowhere near anything but romantic. being an advocate of the underdogs, i'm loving josh holloway's character sawyer despite the jackass tendencies, making him the guy everyone loves to hate. add to the fact that he only happens to be THE cutest mancandy on the show, too. heart!miller lady
i only saw the movie alfie (the latest 2004 jude-law-starring one
, not the 1966 classic-michael-caine one) sometime last week after unwinding from a very tiring day at work, and fell completely in adoration with sienna miller the moment her face was flashed on the screen. so what if i'm more than two years delayed? i never paid her mind in magazines and fashion spreads ever because she's like da who?? but after seeing her as nikki in alfie, i found a goddess! she looks smashing even when she's only wearing an oversized polo looking very disheveled, and holding a cig in one hand. before i've seen her in anything motion picture, i always thought she was this old (by old, i mean not 25 and only 2 years older than i am... which she is) english actress who only make headlines in fashion magazines but whoa! she is really gorgeous. i know this makes me sound so gay but i don't care, i know beauty when i see it. and it's not often that i find beautiful women who leave me in awe like that. so screw me, but sienna miller is hot. she just gained herself a fan.
i love my bitch
here is a picture of the bitch of my life looking very very adorable, it hurts. i love love love my baby, i love my bitch. :) just look at those puppy dog eyes! i caught chacha in a moment and just had to share to the world the one thing that keeps me sane and at peace after a hard day's work. le sigh, she is the cutest thing ever to grace the planet of living things. what a way to start my week :)

what's new
and damn, it took me a full week or so to fully learn how to browse the whole thing. for crying out loud, i only use phones to call and text. i never thought mobile phones can be so complicated. but i love it, mind. i think it's sleek with the black color and the whole flip thing going on. makes me feel so federal agent-ish whenever i answer a call. i am such a sucker right now for espionage type of TV shows, thanks to the whole season 5 of 24 that i spent an entire week staying up really late at night for. i currently have an obsessive thing for tv shows.24
i'm in love with jack bauer. i think the world becomes a safer place when i see him on screen, and the bad guys are out running scared for their dear pointless lives because jack is out to KILL all of them. with his bare hands, but not before jack pins the guy to the ground, locks the guy's arms behind his back and shouts "WHO DO YOU WORK FOR?!" yes, he has that effect on me, and i seriously think he can single-handedly save the whole world from everything evil, e.g. bombs, eastern european terrorists, nuclear missiles, and syntax nerve gases just by hearing the countless number of times he shouts "DAMN IT!" in every episode. i've only watched one entire season of 24 (the latest season) and it's simply impossible to stop once you start. i love the whole cast, i even have the CTU (Counter-Terrorist Unit - where Jack works for) ring as my ringtone, and always have the urge to answer my calls with a stone-cold "siquijor" instead of the age-old greeting "hello", with the usual just-had-coffee perkiness. i even love it when they show the time before and after every gap, with its heart-stopping by-the-second beat. i loves, loves, loves how the show keeps me at the edge of my seat.
CTU kicks arse! toni almeida, edgar stiles, bill buchanan, chloe o'brian, jack bauer, audrey raines, curtis manning, FLOTUS and POTUS martha and charles logangrey's anatomy
well, here's another tv show i went bonkers over. i finished watching season 2 just recently. i'm really not a fan of the mer-der (meredith-derek) tandem so i'm a bit disappointed how it turned out. oops, didn't mean to spoil there. i love derek's wife addison shepherd (i'm always a fan of the underdogs) and she's a hell lot more gorgeous than meredith grey to begin with. i love it when mark "mcsteamy" entered the scene because wow, the guy is SO hot, i don't blame addison for doing what she did. i may be talking in riddles right now but trust me, go grab a DVD box if you may of the entire season because it's bound to get you hooked one way or another. i love izzie stevens and alex karev, i love dr. burke because he is the only one who has disproven my theory that all men are dogs (shame he's fiction), and i love dr. bailey just because she is such a nazi. and fine, in some moments i think derek is a real mcdreamy.
although i still love meredith nonetheless. she's the me i never knew, or i'm the her i never knew. whatever. i'm her, i feel her. i feel the whole loneliness, emptiness, though not as intense as what she's going through. i love the bit where she's sitting on the bathroom floor with a heavy hangover while cristina yang is sitting in the bathtub, and meredith suddenly goes "i'm empty." boom, I AM SO FEELING THAT RIGHT NOW!!! the only difference is that she has a mcdreamy who is dying to leave his wife and get back together with her. i have a mchot boy of my own but well, my mchot boy doesn't really know he's MY mchot boy. anyway, i seriously want meredith to move on from her mcdreamy and go settle with her mcvet. sorry, talking in riddles again.it only means one thing if you didn't get a sentence i just wrote: go watch grey's. and 24. now. ;)
house m.d. i'm about to finish the 2nd season of, i am missing my dose of dr. house's sarcasm. and the show's resident mcdreamy, dr. chase. and i can't wait until i can finally get my hands on lost. a lot of people are recommending that, but since i don't really spend my money on sets of dvd boxes, i am waiting for a kindred spirit to lend me one. so yeah, would really appreciate if anyone out there has the complete seasons 1 and 2 that i can borrow :D *cough*
did i miss blogging, or what?? be back soon, more drama in life about to unfold.
11 July 2006
making it look like i'm ok when frankly everything is so screwed and i really don't know why but it just is
my birthday went by rather smoothly, and by smoothly i mean everyone was too tired to celebrate (including moi) because of the major hell event that happened the night before. FHM was a big success to the expense of my feet, which i pronounced dead by the time i got home. it was crazy running back and forth that huuuge place, and the heat didn't help either. the only thing that bothered me a lot was the fact that i didn't feel it was my birthday at all, i mean personally speaking. the previous years, i used to be excited the whole day, never mind if people remembered or not. just knowing it was my birthday was enough to make me all giddy, but this year it was like i couldn't have cared less. the day just passed me by and it was like any ordinary day, i'm surprised at people who greeted me and were even more excited about my birthday than i was. really disturbing, if you ask me. must've been the fatigue from all the work. but i'm so glad that's done with, and the next event we gotta worry (or look forward to, for a more positive approach) is the cosmo bachelor bash. but right now i gotta get better because i've been feeling sick and shitty (to the core) lately, i gotta get the freak back on soon. get the nega vibes out of me!
speaking of feeling shitty, i skipped work today and spent the day at home, thanks to the inhumane pain that my menstrual cramps bring every month. instead of getting the much-needed rest, i spent most of it in rage, as usual. the PC at home is so effed that my mom had it rebooted yet again, deciding to erase all my files because "it took up too much space" without consulting me, including my precious collection of a thousand mp3's i've so patiently collated all this time. oh man, was i pissed. that really really sucked. not to mention the fact that i have to re-install everything: iTunes, restore all the music, and attempt to bring back all those songs all over again. but anyways, it was all good after locking myself up in my room because i got to sleep everything off just to soothe the rage, and now i have no idea how on earth i can possibly sleep again for the night after having a 5-hour nap.
on to other exciting news, i just found out that initial d will be shown in manila on july 12. edison chen! oh be still, my beating heart. i must've fallen in love with him all over again after reading another interview of him here and his fabulous lifestyle company called CLOT. check out his blog here because he actually has a few interesting things to say, and i'm not just saying that because i'm destined to marry the guy. reading about his insights makes me want to take risks i've been so afraid of taking, and start following my dreams of... simply becoming. i've been seriously thinking of studying abroad lately (hopefully down under or NZ), and opening a business of my own in the future, but i don't know how i can possibly get those done, considering they require a certain amount of moolah which clearly, i've been lacking since the day i was born. but reading about how edison made it and how he managed to finally live out his dream of becoming a musician slash business honcho slash designer extraordinaire slash international entertainer (the guy designs NIKE sneakers and levi's pants and coordinates with different designers the world over for his company CLOT. he just finished filming his first hollywood movie the grudge 2. that is one scary movie i will risk watching in the cinemas, all for the love.) wow, i can seriously marry him now.
so there. past 1AM and not a tad bit sleepy. uh-oh. thank god i got the entire season 5 of 24 to keep me sane the whole night (i'm on disc 6 of 8!) i am soooo loving kiefer sutherland as jack bauer at the moment. <3
