whirlwind week

it's been literally exhausting this past week. and i swear, i wouldn't have thought i can go through the lowest of the low to the highest high in only a matter of hours, and still live to tell the tale. yup, that's the media industry for you.

i haven't been able to write what's been going on, even though i feel like i'm bursting with words now that i snuck some time to blog once again. ok, but to sum it all up, i've:

(1) witnessed a marriage proposal for the first time (not mine though *snort*)

(2) had a spontaneous roadtrip all the way to tagaytay at midnight

(3) been alone with three suuuupeeerrr hot models (lucky gal or what? :P~)

(4) had a BIG row with some BIG people over at some big network. (and i mean big-time producers, big-time directors. you know, like i actually had the power to go up against them, but i did. so i can kiss my not-even-established reputation goodbye. hmm ;P)

but who cares, especially when i've:

(5) had coffee with probably THE MOST GOOD-LOOKING guy i can possibly find myself alone with in this lifetime. (for 2 hours!!! this one WILL definitely keep me smiling all the way until christmas. next year.)

i'd go through them one by one, but it's been so chaotic i don't even know how to start. let's just put it at that. i've experienced heaven, then hell, then absolute heaven, in only a span of a week. i've been asking God for some color in my otherwise dull life... man, i feel like i'm a big splash of bright hues at this point. :)

missing the beach

i miss the beach so much. it's been a long weekend and would've been a perfect time to hit the beach, but i guess you can't really plan a beach outing in only a matter of days. not when it takes people about half a year to make up their minds. :(

i just got home from an event at aruba bar in metrowalk and at around midnight, i was so ready to hit home and kick it in front of the telly, and suddenly realized how manang-ish i'm starting to become. haha. i've really just wanted to stay at home on weekends nowadays. but then i started to think of party nights at the beach and the memory of cool nights under the stars rushes back euphorically, with the picture of beach attire-clad people walking endlessly amidst curls of smoke and bottles of beer. not to mention the sweet music of the waves as the perfect background. 1:30 am on the galera sands (i'm sorry, i haven't experienced bora yet. but i bet that would be an entirely different adrenaline when it finally happens) and i would still be jumping up and down or just dancing until i drop dead. the beach hippie that i am, there has always got to be something brewing when you're in that kind of perfect environment.

i would give up anything to be able to spend that kind of night. haay.

tears over violin

i never thought the sound of the violin could be very lonesome. i found myself shedding quiet tears as i listened to a violinist (name of which i forgot, but the man was really good) play looking through the eyes of love during johnny litton's birthday bash on look who's talking. it just sounded very sad, painful even. it seemed to lull all the tears to come out, and the floodgate of forgotten sadness emerges from deep within once more. talk about waterworks at midnight.

then the reality that i am alone, even more so than i quite realize, creeps in from out of nowhere. when friends of old forcefully take on trunks of excess baggage that would change EVERYTHING for the rest of your lives, there's absolutely nothing you can do but accept. still alone. still blaming the one who has long stolen my magic, the little boy made for me in the stars. and i feel even more alone. as i dim the lights and hug the pillow to sleep.

g'night.

martha stewart moment

ok. i cannot believe what just transpired within the hour. i actually had the energy and enthusiasm to clean out my workspace. and i mean clean it! i spent about an hour or so pouring alcohol everywhere and wiping every area vigorously with TP. and i finally rearranged my desk for a cleaner and more maluwag look. i think all those "feng shui your workspace" shit i've been reading on the net recently have started to rub off on me. or not. nakakabwisit lang talaga pag laging dirty. :P

i feel good (and feel like bursting to a song, too). looking around my immaculately clean work haven makes me feel smug all of a sudden. i want to drag my mom all the way here to show her that i can be tidy, and be damn good at it! sinong burara?? heheh i love it when my OC side decides to come out of the closet once in a while, that martha stewart moment was completely fulfilling. i even had the patience to clean out every key on the keyboard and the monitor frame, and found out they were actually white, never beige. imagine all those dirt. ugh, and i've been working on them for the past 4 months! good thing i'm never the dangerously metikolosa type or i would've had a heart attack.

*teehee* ok, i've got a bigger challenge waiting for me at home, my very own room. i've told myself a million times that i will devote a whole day to do major cleaning and get rid of everything! it's been housing clutter for the longest time, and i think now it's screaming for space. a LOT of space. i hope this stewart syndrome hangs around for the next couple of days, i'm gonna need all the motivation and drive to actually start doing and getting it over with.

the mica dialogues
the new la reine de drame blog segment (harhar) where all interesting exchange of words, from the sensible to the senseless, fall under.

sarah: so, how are you?
me: oh, i'm good. but i'm feeling lifeless lately.
sarah: (sounding frantic) why, what's happening???
me: (blabs for a full minute) i think i need to get out more often para exciting naman.
sarah: oh sorry, i didn't mean you. may naririnig akong pumapadyak sa kabilang kwarto, akala ko anong nangyayari kaya ko natanong yun.
me: (silence) ay, shit ka.

*****
(while watching something's gotta give on hbo)

sarah: umiiyak pa din siya?
me: (laughing) hehehe ang kulit humalughog.
sarah: mics, baka hagulgol.

monstermorphosis

it just hit me. i suddenly realized what my problem is, and instantly became afraid of me (or what i can possibly turn into should this become even worse). i think i'm having anger management issues... or probably just a slight case of that. i notice i shamelessly burst and fire up uncontrollably at the littlest things, even when i'm in a crowd of complete strangers. although i haven't really been shouting at people unreasonably, nor physically injuring people yet with slaps or kicks, i just sit silently seething with all the pent-up anger and secretly wishing i could. ugh, it has to stop, i think i'm turning into a monster. and not just a mike-wazowski kind of adorable monter, but a real three-eyed, shit-stinking one (not to be taken literally). i practically punched a guy one time for simply looking at me, although i think it compensated with the crude, sadako-ish stare i gave him much to his fright. just last night i had another shouting match with my brother (well, it was no match, i was doing most of the top-of-the-lungs action) just because he came in late from hanging out with his good-for-nothing bums of friends. and i was sounding completely mental with all the rage i think i scared him and my mother a bit.

then i told him i want him dead, not minding the fact that it's his birthday tomorrow. now i'm getting paranoid that he would be committing suicide or something completely grotesque soon to show me. oh dear. i'll be a complete wreck if he does. NYAARRR what am i thinking?? of course he wouldn't do that!! the funny thing is, i had the same senseless fight with him exactly one year ago and we didn't talk for days. history has a funny way of repeating bad past.

puting walang kasinglinis!

new layout! it's that time again when i get sick and tired of my old layout and scout for a new blog look. well i noticed that my recent blog entries don't really match the feel of the old layout anymore i.e. screaming barbie pink, so i decided for a neutral color instead, white. it sort of comes out as an irony to have a "clean" color as backdrop amidst all the angst-filled entries, doncha think?

but i really like it. the layout, i mean. i think i'll be sticking with this one for a while (although that's the same thing i said to the last 3 layouts i've had, hihi)

the joke's on me

WARNING: series of *more* unfortunate events ahead.

i'm not being an ungrateful leech here, but i'm just wondering why things have been turning a bit... odd lately. my whole weekend was filled with so-called kamalasan that i was seriously hoping there was such a thing as the felix felicis , a potion in the wizarding world that apparently brings luck, which is probably the only thing that would put all these jinxes far, far away from me *more of my harry potter book 6 rants in a while. yes, and i mean RANTS* i thought it best to put them all out here, just to take them out of my system. maybe then i'd be rid of this jinx once and for all.

farewell, cell

i lost my sun phone at the office last friday night. as previously mentioned, i thought i lost my iPod, which got my complete attention of care right after i retrieved it from ro *shucks, you guys* that i didn't notice my other phone was missing. and this time, it was seriously missing. being the complete slob and slippery-minded person that i am, i was thinking that it could be anywhere underneath my paper-laden and trash-infested desk, or stashed somewhere inside my disorganized bag. upon prepping to go home at around 9 that evening and making sure my beloved iPod was safely secured in my bag, that's when i began to notice that i was holding just one cellphone (the one i really own). i tried not to fret over it since i didn't want to ruin my entire weekend, so i thought it would turn up anytime soon (my bag seems to have a hundred compartments in it, it could have been sandwiched in between all the other stuff) but it didn't turn up. come monday, i was still hoping someone would bellow at me for my carelessness of leaving my phone behind, or email the entire company how burara i am (something my mom would gladly do, i'm sure) then stuff my lcd-broken phone right at my face, and everything would be normal again. i really don't want to think anyone would have taken it, because it's a bit run-down. i myself am having a hard time reading the messages because of the broken lcd (which, by the way, will cost a whopping 2k of moolah to have it fixed, thanks to thea). i told the administration about it, and i guess i have no choice but to replace it. unless i suddenly develop legilemency (forgive me, i just finished that goddamn harry potter book.) and learn how to read people's minds, maybe then i'd find the culprit. IF there is a culprit. 'til then i'm gonna have to find a way of raising enough funds to buy me a 2nd hand phone as replacement. ho-hum.

stupid saturday

my saturday morning was good, though. i went swimming with my mom, bok, my aunt and cousin at the rizal memorial as part of our new workout every weekend. we were done by lunch, but i didn't have time to shampoo my hair because i had to rush to the office for a radio guesting i had to take care of at 2pm with the author of one of the books we handle. we arranged to meet at the radio station and then get the interview done with, but as i was walking on my way to the office to meet the driver that would take me to the station, the author calls me up and nonchalantly announces that she's done with the interview. i couldn't help but stare in disbelief at my phone, but after making sure that she was ok with it, i dashed nonetheless at the station to hand over a copy of the book and ask how long the interview went (for mileage). when i got back to the mall, i decided to pamper myself with a pedicure for my almost-damaged toenails, and a quick shampoo and blowdry because i didn't want to take another year doing so at home. i was supposed to have dinner with sarah that night and i was psyched to hangout. her troubled relationship with that guy she calls her ex (who also happens to be an almost-brother friend of mine) has sent her in a catapult, so i do want to be there for her while she goes through the whole drama. as i was paying for my bill at the salon, i got totally ripped off! it's a long story, but i guess the receptionist and i weren't able to communicate properly because i ended paying double of what i thought my bill was supposed to be. good thing i just had my pay, but still, it didn't make me feel good in the end. i guess it's ok because my hair looked fab for our night-out, but when i got home, sarah texted that her leave wasn't approved so she had no choice but to report to work that evening. it was just disappointing that i already conditioned myself for an exciting night ahead, only for my big bubble to burst. anyways, i dragged michel to quiapo to splurge on dvd's and bought snacks for a night of movie marathons instead. at least the day still ended well.

j.k. rowling ruined my weekend

*if you haven't read half-blood prince yet, you might not find this amusing.

it still tears me apart to have spent about a week or so reading a copy of a saved harry potter and the half-blood prince in word document, stealing time at the office for a quick peek but ends up as hours deeply engrossed chapter after chapter, just to be completely devastated in the end. yes, j.k. rowling killed the most wonderful harry potter character she has created! (apart from harry, of course) i cannot believe i endured all those hours - nay, days to weeks - trying to find comfort in all the voldemort explanations just to read and have my heart broken in the end that the most amazing and adorable wizard got killed. i am no harry potter whiz (unlike myra, who is a certified walking and talking harry potter scholar ;P) but i was, just like the rest of the world and all bookworms alike, smitten with this book upon my first time of reading it years ago. i have liked it because i have completely fallen in love with the characters in it, and its magical and enchanting plot. i mean sure, it deals with darkness and evil at some point, and to read about the deaths of some of the beloved characters was just heartbreaking. but i don't understand why rowling builds up a really amazing character, just to have him killed in the end. argh, it just pisses me off! i ended up throwing the remaining pages of the printed copies i brought home at the wall with such force the minute i finished it and was barking at everyone like a deranged rott for the rest of the day. imagine if i had bought the actual book. i would've torn it to pieces in no time (then tape them all back carefully after) screw you, rowling. SCREW YOU!!!!

i thought my series of unfortunate events would still go on come sunday as UST went up against NU at the UAAP. neither still had wins, but had the UST tigers lost to the underdog NU bulldogs (pun not intended), i could've cursed the world and ran amok in the wild. fortunately, my dear college alma mater won this time. go USTe!
